I use to
paint
and draw
horses
with
human
beings,
for me
they
represent
symbols,
perfect
blends,
full
with
energy
produced
by the
tension
and
distension
of those
alive
bodies,
trying
to
achieve
an
equilibrium
similar
to
nature
itself,
where
all the
existent
elements
are all
together
in
varieties,
quantities
and
precise
proportions,
resulting
in
unique
beings
with a
variety
of
vibrations
(the
three
natural
kingdoms).
With
human
pretentiousness
I try to
dominate
the
materials
transforming
them
throughout
art;
magic
medium
that
permits
a
sublime
manifestation
revealing
in every
final
artwork
intangible
but
present
dimensions.
A search
and
definition
between
the
abstract
and
concrete,the
positive
and
negative,
the
finite
and
eternal,
the
subjective
and
objective,
considering
their
relativity
and
definitely
having
the
certainty
that
everything
is able
and
susceptible
to
transform
itself,
in the
eternal
and
mythical
spiral
that
life is.
Samuel
Ruiz
Samuel
Ruiz is
interested
in
fragmentation,
shadows
and
profiles,
in order
to
conjure
the idea
of
totality.
He is
not
inclined
on
giving
the
viewer a
realistic
image,
instead
he
proposes
a visual
symbol
that, in
this
case,
can be a
horse or
a human
figure.
In his
paintings,
we see
hoofs of
horses
that
gallop
in a
prairie
or the
outline
of a
colt and
its
rider on
the
horizon.
He does
not
limit
himself
to
brushwork,
he takes
advantage
of his
experience
in
graphic
arts to
introduce
diverse
techniques,
such as
patterns,
stamps,
collages
or cut
papers
to
reproduce
flowers
or
branches
entangled
with
decorative
lines in
order to
harmonize
with a
texture
of
subtle
chromatic
connotations.
