The works of Jaime Romano examine the artist’s process and way of thinking; showing its particular way of seeing and feeling a world that according to him is far away from narrative and mimesis. He is an excellent thinker, communicator, provoker of ideas and even an “object tracker” all skillfully in context to make his objects true art objects. Romano reconstructs history with subjective imagination as only a teacher of this medium can while at the same time constructing concrete images in which absurdity, allegory, irony, and even humor are present.
For Jaime Romano, intellect is the key to action and the analytical process is a vital ingredient in producing a work of art. One has to admire the perseverance that he maintains during his whole creative process, norms, or previously established principles. Conceptual preeminence, consistency in the plastic language and how meticulous he is in the execution of his works are fair qualities that distinguish our artist.

Jaime Romano is an artist whose work enriches the active language of abstraction and at the same time paves the way to a creative norm. He boasts an arsenal of resources of which he arranges. He assaults the spectator’s sight from the inner layers of his paintings with a constrained palette. In an analogous way, the textures seem to take root in their bases. The dramatism shown on his velaturas directs the art user to analyze his works with archeological criteria.
