ARTIST PROFILE

The works of José Eduardo Ramírez could be described as simple and clean, in which the use of neutral colors in a monochromatic way predominate. This is observed mainly in his backgrounds where the artist prefers to apply a single color evenly. Such backgrounds are occasionally outlined by the application of another pigment or by the presence of some sort of volume or relief, this way, creating geometric figures where you would regularly recognize rectangles and squares. We could say that the influence of architectural drawing is noticeable in his works. Such an influence is made evident by the use of reliefs, volumes and shadows, but it is stressed more by the presence of industrial elements.

We can find incorporated in the artist’s works elements such as metal, wood, acrylic sheets, PVC pipes among others. Such elements not only form an integral part of his works but also characterize it. In addition, the artist expects that the embossment and indentations allow the illumination and as a result, the contrasts between the light and the shadows have a key role in his works.
